Deborah Lister Academy of Dance was established October 1999, with just 15 pupils. From these humble beginnings, the Academy has expanded since its opening and now has over 160 pupils with an age range from 3 to adult.
The dance studio is at The Welsh Capel, 69a, Hardshaw Street, St Helens, Merseyside, WA10 1JW. It has good access to the bus station, train links, and central car parks. There are also short stay pay and display close to the dance studio.
Timetable
We offer dance classes for pupils age three to adult. The timetable includes classes in ballet, tap, modern, jazz, limbering, street dance, show work and audition technique. All teachers are fully qualified with the I.S.T.D and R.A.D dance teaching associations. Teachers are trained in Health and Safety, First Aid, Lifespan and Development and are also CRB checked.
Examinations/Shows
Examinations are held regularly throughout the year in all dance subjects. Pupils are entered for the Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance Examinations. The dance academy boasts 100% pass rate for all examinations since the school opened in 1999. Shows are held every two years at the St Helens Theatre Royal. Dancers are also given the opportunity to perform at local events/shows!!
Uniform
All new pupils can wear a suitable tracksuit during class until they buy the correct uniform. We have a good supply of shoes for beginners to borrow, initially. Dance uniform is available to buy at the studio (except shoes). See price list on notice board.
Registration
All parents/guardians must complete a registration form for their child. Details of any known medical conditions, allergies, special needs or learning difficulties must be stated on the registration form. Please print off the registration form and bring it with you on your first lesson.

Fees as from FEBRUARY 2013
Beginners Ballet/Tap £5.00
Pointe £5.00
All other classes £4.50
Beginners can pay weekly for two months, then at the beginning of each month you will receive a bill.
Fees must be paid by bank transfer,cash or cheque by the 20th of each month. Cheques should be made payable to Mrs D Clayton, please write your childs name on the back of the cheque. The dance academy opens term time only, all absences must be paid for and bills will not be amended.
ANY OUTSTANDING FEES AT THE END OF THE MONTH WILL INCUR A £5.00 ADMINISTRATION CHARGE!!
NOTIFICATION OF TERMINATION OR ANY ALTERATIONS TO CLASSES MUST BE GIVEN ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE e.g. If termination is part way through a month , fees for the full month are still payable.
